How they work is that they reserve the balance on your existing credit card and then divide it over a period of up to 9 months and debit it monthly. So basically if you wished to purchase a ring for £2450 they would take a 10% deposit of £245 and then reserve the balance of £2205 and then divide that by 9 even instalments of £245. Each month this frees up that amount to spend on your card.
